Libby Eastman Sullivan

Libby Eastman Sullivan is a mixed media artist who grew up in New England and now lives in the Pacific Northwest. She attended a performing arts high school, focusing on dance and art, and later received a B.A. in Studio art from Skidmore College and a Master’s degree in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston. Libby lived in Denver, Colorado in the 1990s, where she performed with the Hannah Kahn dance company and showed her work in local galleries. After a brief interlude of living in Boston, Libby eventually moved back out west with her husband to a small town in central Washington. After a short time spent raising her children, Libby began to show in galleries and other venues in the Pacific Northwest. Libby has worked to develop her own mixed-media technique of combining paper from old books, collaged images from magazines, and acrylic paint to create mysterious, whimsical paintings. By manipulating textual artifacts and found images she hopes to create momentary narratives that encourage viewers to create their own stories.

Libby created the cover illustration for Nettlefield.
